Helping Hands reported for duty at the Naval Park in downtown Buffalo in August to assist with a preservation project of the PTF-17 boat in the Park’s shipyard.
The boat was used during the Vietnam War and constructed by Norway. With only 4 of these boats left, this preservation project is essential in keeping an important part of history on the Park’s grounds.
Tasks for the day included:
- Scraping old paint
- Sanding the surface
- Painting primer
- Cleaning up the area around the shipyard
