Helping Hands Kicks Off Summer

Our team wanted to start the summer of 2021 much different than what 2020 offered. As the city of Buffalo and the local area began opening its doors again, CTBK began planning ways to give back to the community in different ways than what the pandemic allowed.

Our Helping Hands Committee began planning events following tax season, starting with a Local Clean-Up, hosted by Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper. Our team set out to pick up trash in various parks, roadsides, and public areas around the community.

In May, we honored the springtime tradition and the precious lives lost by assisting with landscaping and planting at Elmlawn Cemetery in Tonawanda. Despite Buffalo’s unpredictable weather, our team was able to work on a bright, sunny day!

Just a couple weeks later, we were back outside helping Clarence Elementary build a new playground for students, one that is safer and more inclusive for children to enjoy.

This week, CTBK checked out Victory Sports Global Outreach (VSGO) new location at the Eastern Hills Mall and spent the afternoon building ball bins to be dispersed at local parks, inflated sports balls, and prepped ball bags to be dropped off at various Ball Bin locations.

As a corporate sponsor of VSGO, we are always eager to get our hands on their projects that inspire kids to play outside!

Keep an eye out for our Helping Hands around Buffalo; and if you see us, come say hello! Hope to see you out there!
